Re: Rob Newman head of recruitment
Newman has given Moyes a better team, every position he wanted/needed filled he got a player in that was better than what we originally had. How is it Newman's fault that Moyes has decided this season he will be completely anti attacking, soak up pressure and continue to play out of form players in favour of giving HIS signings any chance to get a run of form. The way he has managed some of those players make you wonder if Newman will stick around. Whats the point in dithering around all fucking summer flirting with Lingard and then going to the list Newman compiled and still not playing those players. 200 million down the swanny so that Moyes can play anti football and bore the fucking life out of 45k season ticket holders and many thousand more supporters across the land. A few flash in the pan results mean fuck all. We shouldn't be in this position but it's his tactics, his man management and his desire to play in a certain way overlooking the footballing talent we have in the side.

Jury out on him for me with tweedledum and tweedledee having the say on who comes and who does not. All his suggestions might be being turned down. Be interesting to know which signings he’s responsible for and which he’s not, and what he identified that we haven’t followed up on before judging.

Let’s face it, Man City don’t buy many stinkers.

of course, it's rob newman's fault and nothing to do with the absolute fucking clown in charge. it was also newman's fault, even though he hadn't arrived yet at the club, when the same jock idiot cost the club tens of millions on other players he destroyed

Re: Rob Newman head of recruitment
TBF it was reported that Newman identified Julian Alvarez last year and Moyes turned him down.

There might have been other similar situations as well so much like some are saying we should judge some of our players under a different manager then maybe we should do the same with Newman as well?

Re: Rob Newman head of recruitment
It absolutely astounds me that anyone can believe we've spent the rice money in advance . The dwarf would never take a gamble like that . Anyway a quick look at the clubs accounts which are easily found can see that kretinsky invested a huge amount last summer that and the money earned during the Europa League run is why we spent so much .

Re: Rob Newman head of recruitment
We should never be buying £40m or £50m players, it’s not sustainable and is a sign of poor scouting.

We’ve pissed £180m up the wall basically.
We’re so badly run and It comes from the top down.

Having seen Newcastle & Villa have a huge turnaround to their rabbles…. I’d rather wait and let a new manager decide…..

i have a horrible feeling that the rice money was spent last year, in advance.

Re: Rob Newman head of recruitment
Agreed.

It’s almost as though Man City’s vast wealth somehow influenced their ability to land big talent.

I always thought Newman was a poor fit. West Ham are not trying to replicate what the likes of Man City do. They can sign established world-class talent on massive fees.

We’re generally in the business of trying to spot less expensive players on the way up. We should be trying to replicate what Brighton, Brentford and others do - but at a slightly higher (financial) level. That wasn’t Newman at Man City.
